Over the years, we have come to see many K-Pop rappers having credits for their contributions either through lyrics and/or composition of many of their group’s or other artists’ works. This laudable aspect of K-Pop is becoming even more prevalent, especially amongst 4th generation idols. Seeking to showcase and infuse their refreshing and creative talents into the industry, it could come as a surprise to many fans that some of the 4th generation male rappers are often behind many of the hits we all enjoy today, not just with their writings but also with their arrangement and composition skills too. Here are some of the male idols who are also amazing producers and composers. Please note that in this list are rappers who have not just written but composed or arranged many of their group’s or other artists’ works.
1. ATEEZ’s HongJoong
Since his debut, HongJoong has been writing his own lyrics, which comes as no surprise when you’re considered one of the best rappers today. However, his talents has also gone beyond writing as he has also been credited for the composition and arrangement of many of ATEEZ’s hit songs and also his covers as well. Like HongJoong, we got to see a glimpse of BangChan’s talents during the Mnet competition series “KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR” and just like the rest of team MAYFLY, we were stunned by his talents. Combined, they are one of the most credited Idol producers on KOMCA with over 381 songs credits to their name. Some of which includes many hit songs like ‘Hellevator’, ‘Haven’, ‘Back Door’, ‘Thunderous’, ‘Maniac’, and ‘Case 143’ to name a few.
3. BAE173’s DoHyon
DoHyon first came into the scene during his appearance in the Mnet competition show “PRODUCE X 101”. Swooning the hearts of viewers with his lovable charms, shocking duality, and fiery rap skills. Since his debut with both H&D and BAE173, he has continued to gain the favor and admiration of many fans and idols alike for not just his incredible rap or performance skills but also his production skills as well. Notably, he has contributed to the writings and composition of many of his group’s songs and other artists as well. Some of his songs with both writing and composition credits are ‘DaSH’, ‘Jaws’, ‘Runnin’, ‘Get Him Ugh’ and LUMINOUS’ ‘Creature’.
4. TREASURE’s Choi HyunSuk

Castle J’s brilliance is proving to be insurmountable and at this point, we can say he truly never disappoints with anything he does. Be it with his amazing remixes or his group’s original songs, anything he touches feels and tastes like honey, and listening to those gems, it is not surprising that many fans are addicted to his songs. 7. P1Harmony’s JongSeob
JongSeob is notably recognized as the youngest male idol on KOMCA with 17 songs under his name as of age 16. An impressive feat that has no doubt piqued the interest of many in his talents. And as he continues to grow as a fierce rapper and a charismatic performer, he also seems to be fostering his musical production skills as well. Although he has many writing credits, as of the date of this article, he currently has one writing and composing credit for the song ‘If You Call Me’ on his group’s album “Disharmony: Break Out”.
